Our Sheep are kept on hilly upland meadows and pastures - land which is too high up and exposed to grow cereals or crops commercially. Thanks to the sheep, this grazed area fringed with our carefully managed woodland and laid hedges provides the perfect open grassland area for ground nesting birds like Curlews, Lapwings, Redshanks, Snipe, Skylarks, Yellowhammers and more, which have been increasing in number ever since we took over this farm in the late 80s.
