Hive delivery, set up and introductory lesson to beekeeping: One of our team will drive to your chosen location and meet you and any family or friends you'd like to join, ensure you're appropriately dressed (hire or buy bee suits off us or use your own) set up your bee hive in your chosen location and then give you and yours an introductory lesson on how to look after your bees, including how to undertake a basic hive health heck.

Shop bees

Our Bees are all bred and reared on our exposed North Facing hill farm North of Manchester on the edge of the Pennine Moors at over 250m above sea level (for context the average height of land in England is ~54m above sea level.) We are the most Northern, highest elevation commercial bee farm in England or Wales. Buying Bees from higher, colder locations than where you plan to keep them means your new bees will thrive in their new home, experiencing all the benefits of warmer lower lying climates - all of which are great news for your bees, particularly if you're a first time beekeeper looking to keep things simple and easy.

We are a small-scale commercial enterprise with only a handful of colonies for sale each year and we sell on a first come, first served basis.

How many hives should you hire?

We recommend:

Small gardens: 1 hive

Large gardens: 2 hives

Commercial growers: 2-3 hives per hectare

Delivery across England, Wales and Scotland available

Prices: £350 plus vat. This includes 1 hive for one week, delivery and collection. Add additional hives for only £10 per week per hive. Minimum stay: 1 week. Email hello@cronkshawfoldfarm.co.uk to book.
