Cronkshaw Fold provides the ideal venue for fieldwork students looking to undertake a case studies on the subjects of land management, conservation, habitat management, countryside management, low input farming practices and the RSPCA '5 freedoms' farming philosophy.
If you are looking to teach your class a specific topic not mentioned above that you feel our farm could offer, please drop us an email to learn@cronkshawfoldfarm.co.uk and we can discuss the possibilities of arranging a bespoke visit for your class.
Along with acting as a fieldtrip venue Cronkshaw Fold offers an ideal work experience placement for students considering careers within conservation, veterinary care, livestock management, gardening, woodland management and other agricultural related disciplines. Students interested in undertaking a placement with us should send a 250 word cover letter outlining why they want to work here on the farm and how it will benefit their career choices. A CV including extra curricular as well as academic activities should also be submitted along with an outline of dates and times the student would like to attend a placement with us. Applications should be sent via email or post.
When
We accept bookings year round. We offer first time group leaders visiting our farm a free pre-visit to meet the farm staff, have a look round and discuss any particular objectives you'd like to achieve during your visit. To request a visit, please email us if you would like to arrange a pre-visit or get some more information prior to submitting a booking form.
Prices
We have a minimum charge of £75 for a half day visit and £142 for a full day visit, which includes up to 6 students. There is an additional charge of £7.50 per student thereafter.
